Recently, I have focused on humans relating to each other through the shared experience of seeking a sense of control in their lives. This striving for control can take many forms, both mundane and nonsensical, such as seeking to control time, amassing awards or honors, obsessive evaluation, applying artificial structure to events or procedures, and creating new faith systems. This struggle for perceived control seems to stem from a resistance to change, and a fear of the unknown. These are two uniquely human qualities I focus on, and to which most participants can relate. I try to balance this sometimes unpleasant subject matter with a dry humor that emerges in most of my work.

With Night Depository, I set up an altar to anxiety dreams where participants were welcome to record and file away their negative dreams according to an elaborate filing system spread across six banks of pigeon holes. Viewers were also welcome to read the filed dreams at their leisure.
